This September Chongqing Customs launched the softcopy operation in customs clearance where all the paper certificates and notes were turned into softcopies. This transformation will improve efficiency of customs clearance and reduce the cost.
Under this policy,Changan Ford can not handle container carrying procedures without customs clearance. Through concerted efforts of concerned personnel and negotiation with Chongqing Customs, Chongqing Customs provided Changan Ford a special policy which allowed its containers to be carried back to plants and put into use without completion of customs clearance. The only precondition is that the containers shall be examined and approved by customs through three levels. The customs clearance can then be conducted upon ship’s arrival in Chongqing and completion of examination.
This special policy has greatly supported the container carrying business of Changan Ford,which is the only company in Chongqing that enjoys such treatment.
